I let master of irony Frank JavCee explain it to you in his mind-boggling edutainment video.
I first stumbled across this esoteric genre early last year while researching the topic of seapunk (which is another post for another time). I immediately took kindly to its irritating charms. Although it multi-encapsulates itself in layers of a self-grasping hate-love of consumer culture, I immediately, intuitively knew what it was all about. It's the prettiest expression of everything you ever hated about the way reading Adorno makes you feel. So I like it, even though it was declared dead as a genre the day it had its own wikipedia article a few years ago. I guess I'm old-fashioned that way.
